The Pipette Company is a specialist manufacturer of high quality micro-manipulation pipettes and has been supplying pipettes to embryologists
since 2000. TPC pipettes are designed to minimise oocyte degeneration and optimise clinical outcomes. They are precision manufactured to the trictest standards, so you receive only the very highest quality pipettes.
An ultraclean environment, precision manufacturing, strict rejection criteria and thorough QC/QA ensure unparalleled levels of cleanliness, consistency, uniformity and functionality.
That is the TPC quality advantage.
Injection pipettes have a precision engineered Sharp-Blunt Spike™ which penetrates the zona pellucida easily, but does not tear the oolemma and cause degeneration. Spikes are consistent in shape, length and sharpness.
Holding pipettes have a large, square, flat face and a proportionately large inner diameter at the tip, which provides better support for the oocyte/embryo and reduces distortion during manipulation.
Biopsy pipettes have a bevelled, lightly heat polished tip to facilitate safe removal of blastomeres through a relatively small opening in the zona pellucida. Zona drilling pipettes are square and lightly heat polished to reduce any possibility of damage to the embryo or polar body due to sharp edges.
Zona cutting (PZD) pipettes are stout and sharp, for easy penetration of the zona pellucida. Features of all pipettes include:
Long, parallel tapers provide smooth, effortless fluid control during micro-manipulation. The bases of pipettes are cut square and lightly heat polished to prevent sharp edges from damaging seals inside microtool holders.
Pipettes are single packed and gamma sterilised, ready for use. Every unit package and outer package has a gamma indicator that turns red after irradiation. For easy identification, pipettes are packed in colour-coded protective holders. Outer package labels are also colour-coded.
TPC pipettes are manufactured in Australia by highly trained, specialist technicians who take great pride in their work. Manufacturing is supervised by experienced reproductive scientists.
Manufacturing and packaging is carried out in a state-of-the-art cleanroom which has filters to remove bacteria, VOCs and other contaminants. The cleanroom is spotlessly clean, undergoes regular microbiological screening, and is certified to ISO 14644 class 7.
Only ultrapure water is used – 18.2 MΩ cm-1, TOC < 10 ppb. Water systems are tested regularly for bacteria and endotoxins, and are certified annually. Borosilicate glass capillaries are thoroughly cleaned and rinsed in ultrapure water and heat treated to destroy bacteria, endotoxins, RNA, DNA and enzymes.
